More dissatisfaction with NXEC
by JFC AdminIn May I mentioned my frustrations with NXEC and the decline in service quality over the months since they replaced GNER. Now the NXEC commuter blog has admitted something that I knew they would eventually, that things were much better under GNER. Let’s just face fact, commuting to London by any means sucks, the transport infrastructure is not designed to comfortably cope with the current peak time demand, but GNER did try better than most to offer a decent service. The GNER commuters from Peterborough would almost certainly had it worse if they lived elsewhere and had to commute with a different train company. I had a nightmare few years when I had to commute from Surrey on South West Trains.
The National Express East Anglia franchise out of Liverpool Street is not doing any better. A commuter blog ‘I hate National Express‘ (don’t we all) has been created recently for those who regularly travel on the NXEA route. Reading this blog, I still think it’ll be a while before NXEC slips down to the level of NXEA. For those who don’t know, the NXEA franchise has been run by National Express since 2004 but was until recently just called ‘one‘ so many people mistakenly think National Express has just taken over this route. Prior to the formation of NXEC they never used the National Express brandname on their trains, to avoid confusion with the coach operations.
