CityJet – More to come?
by JFC AdminI mentioned a while ago about Air France by CityJet launching new services from London City. Most of these services are now fully operational. However, for reasons I’ve not yet been able to get an answer to the services to Edinburgh, Dundee and Milan Linate are still listed as ‘coming soon’.
UPDATE: Milan Linate has been quietly removed from the list of destinations.
I’m not sure what the reason for these delays could be. The Dundee and Edinburgh services are already operating by Scot Airways, these services are just codeshares. One of these Scot Airways flights to Edinburgh is operated by a CityJet RJ85 while the rest are operated by Scot Airways own Dornier 328. The intention is to operate these services under both an Air France and Scot Airways code, however, at the moment it’s only possible to book these flights via Scot Airways. Until the services are made available under an AF code it is not possible to earn Flying Blue miles on this route. So as these extra services are operating I can’t see why these services are not yet available under an Air France code as yet. Oddly enough, the flights to Belfast City are operated by Scot Airways but you can only book these flights via the Air France website as they’re not operated under a Scot Airways code.
The Milan route is operated entirely by CityJet and services have not started yet (possibly scrapped).
