Flying Blue - Increase in award miles to North America
by JFC AdminA reader on FlyerTalk Flying Blue forum has pointed out that the mileage redemption rate for flights from Europe to North America is going to be raised from 80,000 miles to 90,000 miles for business class travel. For the moment economy class remains unchanged at 50,000 miles and First Class at 100,000 miles.
I’m hoping that this is not the start of a number of increases across the board. At the moment it looks like this is not the case and the main reason that the mileage required has been raised was to bring the number up to parity with other SkyTeam frequent flyer programmes.
The change applies for flights booked after 1st March 2007 so if you’re planning a North American trip this year then try and book your flights before this deadline if you were planning on paying with miles.
