London City Airport (LCY)
London City Airport is a refreshing alternative to the main airports that serve London. London City is a compact airport located about five miles from central London and close to the business district of Canary Wharf. Due to its size everything is quicker, less people mean less queues for security, faster check-in and faster boarding of the aircraft. It is possible to arrive at the airport 20 minutes before departure and still make your flight, although we recommend allowing more time in case of unexpected problems and so you can relax at the bar.
London City is aimed at the business traveller, but these days is becoming increasingly popular with the leisure traveller too. Thanks to competition, prices have come down in recent years. At one time this was an expensive airport to fly from, now the prices are comparable to those from Heathrow. However, to get the best fares then it's advisable to book early, only small aircraft can use this airport so the best priced seats are sold quickly.
As well as an increasing number of direct flights to popular business and leisure destinations in Europe, London City is also becoming a popular choice for those travelling further afield.
